Culture Statement

At PS 199, we believe all students, staff and families should feel valued and respected.  Students and staff are empowered to express their feelings and share their opinions openly and honestly, and know that their voice will be thoughtfully and safely heard.  Our community will demonstrate by example the importance of compassion, respect and empathy for others and celebrate different experiences and perspectives.  At PS 199, students and staff understand their unlimited potential and feel safe in taking risks and making mistakes in order to grow and learn.  Staff will support students as they strive to make individual growth academically, socially and emotionally. Together we will inspire each other to be positive supporters for one another in our classrooms, school and community.
