PS 199K Vision Statement

At PS 199, we envision a learning community where every child is empowered with a growth mindset, believing that their abilities can be cultivated through effort, practice, and resilience. In our classrooms, curiosity is nurtured, challenges are embraced, and mistakes are celebrated as opportunities for learning. We strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning, instilling in our young learners the confidence to tackle any obstacle they encounter.

We foster a culture of curiosity, resilience, and determination, where students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and take chances in their learning journey. We provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child feels valued and has a sense of belonging.

Our staff inspires a love for learning by providing engaging and personalized instruction that meets the unique needs of each student, including English Language Learners (ELL) and Students with Disabilities (SWD). They serve as guides, mentors, and cheerleaders, encouraging students to set ambitious goals and persevere in the face of challenges.

Families, teachers, and the community work together as partners in education, recognizing that success is a collective effort. We value open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to the growth and well-being of every child.

By fostering a culture of collaboration, we encourage students to learn from each other and celebrate the diverse talents and strengths within our community. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and explore their interests.

Together, we envision a PreK-5 experience that not only prepares students with the foundational skills they need, but also equips them with a growth mindset that will serve as a cornerstone for their lifelong learning journey. With this mindset, our students will approach each new challenge with confidence, knowing that they have the power to shape their own success.
